Insurance

Swisscare international health insurance

According to IAESTE regulations, interns have to be insured against illness, accident and death before leaving their country. You can check with your actual health insurance if you need an additional policy.

In case you are not yet sufficiently insured, IAESTE suggests a good and cheap insurance from SWISSCARE (Swisscare Studentpass International).

Swisscare covers all persons from EU or EFTA countries who study or do an internship within the EU. (Unfortunately, SWISSCARE does not cover internships in third-countries, in that case you will need to organize your own health insurance).

Other insurances

If you’re living in switzerland, you should know that a private liability, household insurance, legal protection, etc. are not necessarily, but are highly recommended.

For example, personal liability insurance is mandatory if you own a car or a dog. And if you’re renting an apartment, your landlord might ask for proof of personal liability insurance, or even home insurance.

Our recommendation is QuickCover. A 100% digital insurance solution designed especially for young people in Switzerland.
